The increased speed is achieved partly by using additional higher-frequency radio waves in addition to the low- and medium-band frequencies used in previous cellular networks. 4G cellphones are not able to use the new networks, which require 5G-enabled wireless devices. Due to the increased bandwidth, it is expected the networks will increasingly be used as general internet service providers for laptops and desktop computers, competing with existing ISPs such as cable internet, and also will make possible new applications in internet-of-things (IoT) and machine-to-machine areas.

The main advantage of the new networks is that they will have greater bandwidth, giving higher download speeds, eventually up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbit/s). He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He began his practice of family medicine at Winter Park Family Practice in 1982, and left there to join Barimo Family Medicine in May 2013.
He then attended medical school at the University of Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine, and did post graduate training at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida. After graduating from Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, he attended the University of South Florida graduating with a bachelor's degree in Zoology. Watzman has grown up in the Orlando area since the age of 3.
